MACKENZIE HALL
BROCKWEIR
Saturday 18th July, 7.00pm
This year’s classical musical evening – which has been the foundation stone of the Festival since it was started – has attracted a star line-up of singers who are completely new to the event.
The line-up includes World famous soprano Rebecca Caine, the original Cosette in Les Miserables, and James Church who will be binging a wonderful new show to the Festival.
Rebecca Caine’s career has been divided between opera and musical theatre – she made her West End debut at 19 in the role of Laurey in Oklahoma! She then sang the role of Eliza in My Fair Lady on the National tour was later asked to join the Royal Shakespeare Company where she created the role of Cosette in Les Miserables. After a successful West End run she joined the original cast of Phantom of the Opera to play Christine opposite Michael Crawford. Since then her career has taken her around the globe.
James Church graduated from Chichester University in 2006, winning the Robert Headley Music Prize. James spends much of his time producing monthly Cabaret Nights for Maidenhead’s Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, which is where he first met Rebecca! He has accompanied a number of West End leading ladies, including Helena Blackman, Frances Ruffelle and Beverley Klein and also performs with the comic quartet, Lend us a Tenor who have recently made appearances at the Henley Festival.
James has made cabaret appearances in London at Lauderdale House and on the Battersea Barge as well as performing all over the UK in theatres, hotels, restaurants….(and church halls)! Last year he performed at the prestigious Cliveden House Hotel
Also returning this year is Juliet Allen.
The classical music and opera evening has been the foundation event of the Brockweir Festival since it began in 1992. If you enjoy listening to music in the open air with family and friends while enjoying a picnic ‘Glyndebourne-style’, this is an evening not to be missed.
